The Calaveras County Historical Society, founded in 1952 collects and preserves for posterity the early history of Calaveras County.

Take a moment to acknowledge those whose steps were first to imprint Calaveras soil. We live in an area full of rich and robust heritage represented in out County Museum. Many decendants of the early residents of Calaveras County are still living, and it is possible to collect from them a vast fund of early history in the county.
