MiWok Indians

“MiWok” is the plural of “Miwu” meaning person, because they did not believe themselves to be a nation possessing a separate existence requiring a name of their own. The local MiWok culture is proudly displayed with beautiful baskets, photos, grinding rocks and a replica bark teepee.

A mural at the end of the room features information about local wildlife, rock formations and other geology.
